We were one of the very first adopters of Microsoft Word for Windows, back in the days when Bill Gates work big glasses.  It wasn’t the very first WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) word processor, but it was the first one to go “main stream”.

Xerox invented the overlapping windows like operating systems you now know and love. Their system called GEM had a program called Pagemaker that was an awesome desktop publishing appliction – long before Microsoft Word was anywhere near as good.
